Girls Thriving

Embrace Your Girl Power with Girls Thriving! 

Girls Thriving is a series of personal development classes are highly interactive and offer a safe place for girls to learn effective social and emotional coping strategies. Even better, teenagers gain a supportive community of others like them, where they can grow and share together.

All teenage girls ages 12-18 are welcome, regardless of your membership status with Fresh Start.

Topics covered in the workshop include:

  • Relationship Building and Healthy Relationships
  • Leadership Skills
  • Assertive Communication
  • Goal Setting
  • Safety in an Online World
  • Self Esteem 

What is the Girls Thriving program at Fresh Start Foundation?

Girls Thriving is a holistic program aimed at increasing a teenage girl's ability to make safe, healthy choices, and to thrive academically and socially.

How often and where do they meet?

We hold a three-day camp during spring break and a three-day camp during fall break. In addition to that, in the past we have held a mother daughter event, a college bound event, and other special events that are held on Saturdays, like vision boarding.

What type of people lead the classes?

Do you have guest speakers on certain topics or with certain certifications. We have trained and experienced staff in specific areas related to the girls. As well as community partners who lead classes. Yes, we have had guest speakers on certain topics in the past.

What does a typical class look like?

We typically have 25 girls ranging from 13-17 years old. All from different areas of the valley.
