What is the Girls Thriving program at Fresh Start Foundation?

Girls Thriving program at Fresh Start Women's Foundation aims to provide all grils in the 6th - 12th grades with holistic opportunities for personal development, leadership, and mentorship.  Our goal is to empower girls to become resilient young women who thrive!

How often and where do they meet?

Girls Thriving meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:30AM - 12:30PM at Fresh Start Women's Resource Center, where we get to connect, learn and build community.

What type of people lead the classes?

We have trained and experienced staff in specific areas related to the girls. As well as community partners who lead classes.

What does a typical class look like?

We typically have 25 girls ranging from grades 6-12. All from different areas of the valley. We always start by getting to know each other and setting group agreements before jumping into our theme/topic for the month. Each month the topic will be different and may include community parnter presentations and hands on activities.  Lunch will be provided each month during which time we'll focus on building meaningful social connections.
