At Fresh Start, we believe in the idea of women supporting women. Our Mentoring Program has been in place for over 20 years and provides each woman with the opportunity to receive long-standing and committed support from professional women and their peers in both one-on-one and group support environments. Women in the Mentoring Program are committed to making significant changes in the personal and professional aspects of their lives. The Mentoring Program enables each woman to receive the support she needs to be able to identify, work through, and achieve the personal and professional goals that are most important to her. The mentoring model for support assists each woman in achieving her own long-term success and empowers her to provide the same support to her family and community. provides our clients with the chance to get guidance, support, and inspiration from successful women in our community.
As a Mentee, you will be matched with a Mentor based on your professional profiles. Your Mentor will act as a trusted advisor and cheerleader, helping you pinpoint professional goals and encouraging you on the way to achieving them. For added accountability, Mentors/Mentees meet two times per month, once in-person and once virtually through phone, email, or in-person, and attend ongoing Mentoring Program workshops and events at Fresh Start.

Interested in Being a Mentor?
The Mentoring Program is a wonderful opportunity for women to support other women who are making the brave decision to change their lives for the better. A Mentor provides professional, educational, and personal support as her mentee builds resiliency and develops tools to change her life for the better.
The first step is to complete the online volunteer application. You will then receive the mentoring application and a link to the required orientation. Mentors must be 25 years or older and have demonstrated success in their professional and personal lives. Program staff is available for ongoing support, communication, and evaluation of the match, and Mentors will receive additional training to be successful.
