FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Phoenix, AZ) – Fresh Start Women’s Foundation is thrilled to announce that the 25th Annual Fresh Start Charity Golf Tournament presented by Valley Toyota Dealers raised over $400,000 to benefit the programs and services offered to Fresh Start. Held on November 8, 2019 at Talking Stick Golf Club, the day was filled with raffles, games, golf and fun.

“The Men’s Board was incredibly proud to be hosting the Charity Golf Classic on such a milestone year,” says Men’s Board Chair Brett Angner. “We were so fortunate to have Valley Toyota Dealers back as our title sponsor and have been thankful for their support for the past 6 years of the tournament. This tournament holds a special place in the community and we saw this year as an opportunity to celebrate the history of the tournament and pave the way for the future of the golf classic.”

The Golf Classic expanded to Talking Stick Golf Club for the 2019 event to accommodate more golfers and activities. The new location also bring together the Salt River Indian Community and our event sponsors. A new partnership with REDW LLC, CPAs and Advisors presented the opportunity to bring in four-time PGA Tour winner Notah Begay III to participate in the event and host a golf clinic for middle and high school girls from the Salt River Indian Community.

“Fresh Start is always looking for ways to expand our impact and reach in the community,” says Fresh Start President and CEO, Susan Berman. “The Golf Classic is always a great way to bring awareness to our mission in a fun way, but this year that was expanded with the partnership of REDW. We were so pleased to have the clinic on the day of the tournament and to inspire young women through Notah and Gabby Lemieux, a Native American rising star who is currently on a path toward the LPGA Tour.”

In addition to the special golf clinic in the morning, the Men’s Board brought back favorites like the auction, Toyota Raffle and the much-loved competitions on the green. Thanks to our incredible partners at Valley Toyota Dealers, each course in our unique tournament offered four (4) hole-in-one opportunities to win brand new vehicles, as well as other contests and on-course challenges. While there were no lucky golfers who won a car with a hole-in-one, a winner was chosen for the Brand-New 2020 RAV4 Adventure raffle at the end of the night!

The after party featured music by Nate Nathan and the Mac Daddy-O’s as well as a spirited live auction, dinner, drinks and glow-in-the-dark chipping contest. In all, the day was a fun, active and lively event that brought awareness to the life changing programs and services offered by Fresh Start. Thank you to the golfers, sponsors, supporters, volunteers and staff who helped to make the Golf Classic a success!
